About Multifamily Energy Savings
The California IOUs launched the ESA Multifamily Energy Savings program in 2023 to serve income-qualifying properties and residents by delivering whole-building energy efficiency, electrification and health and safety upgrades.
TRC and RHA provide program implementation services on behalf of the IOUs, including customer/property enrollment, property audits and benchmarking, project design and incentive layering assistance and in-unit upgrades all at no-cost to property owners or residents.
Income-qualifying properties can receive no-cost energy assessments and technical assistance, in addition to:
- No-cost energy efficiency, appliance, and weatherization upgrades to residential unit
- Qualifying energy efficiency and weatherization improvements to property common areas including community and laundry rooms, leasing offices, hallways, attics/walls, outdoor recreation areas, parking lots, and central heating and cooling systems.
